ShotHub Library Sync: Improved robustness in unreliable network conditions, better error handling and user interface when syncing the clip library with Pomfort ShotHub. Cloud Backup & Syncĭirect S3 Upload: Backup your files in an AWS S3 bucket or other service that implements the S3 API. Silverstack also lets you instantly secure data, preview source material, and create all kinds of reports based on one central metadata library. If you are not familiar with Silverstack, it is software for securely backing up footage and ingesting data in a fast, organized, and transparent way. ![]() Improvements include Final Cut Pro Export, the ability to register your AWS account in Silverstack Lab and safely backup your files in an S3 bucket or other service that implements the S3 API, as well as ACES workflow enhancements. This folder is monitored by the ioGates Desktop App that uploads the rushes to ioGates, and ioGates automatically email the productions that new rushes are ready.Pomfort has released Version 8.2 of Silverstack Lab. The DIT makes the export of rushes to a predefined local folder. SilverStack Lab is a great tool where the DIT is doing most of the work. Like pooling, everything into AVID and DejaEdit will automatically upload and sync project files and media files with the other Avid stations, via a server. The DIT does the first part of the editing assistant job him/herself during the workday. Then we’re using a software called DejaEdit, which is a remote editing addon to AVID.ĭejaEdit is installed on the DIT’s computer and on all the Avid stations. ![]() Our DIT usually uses SilverStack Lab, to offload/backup, transcode, auto sync all the camera source files with sound (the synced Avid files are automatically named by the sound file names) as well as create the dailies files. The more traditional setup in Scandinavia would be in collaboration with an AE (assistant editor) in editorial doing log & sync and preparing dailies. In some of my productions, the DIT (Digital Intermediate Engineer) often also does (in addition to backing up data and being a wrangler and transcoding source files) the image and sound sync, preparing files for offline in Avid and also creates dailies or rushes and uploads them to platforms like ioGates. That causes some differences in the workflows and how you set up your workflow. Here in Scandinavia, the budgets and the productions are smaller, and can’t really be compared with international larger scale productions. She knows she’s only using a fraction of the features in ioGates, but “ For online dailies, it’s really, really great!” and “ The usability is so smooth.“ You sort of have to look through all the different folders, from different shooting days, to try to find things. Other systems might have a more appealing UI, but they don’t always have the search functionality. I use that some I would say, but especially the script supervisor, the onset costume or the stand-by-props would use that a lot for continuity reasons. How simple it is to search for C-number og slate-number, when you are looking for something in particular. Especially producers, TV channels/streamers or distributors really value that when working on larger, more high-profile projects. It’s the only system I’ve seen that has a secure login system with a unique PIN required for each login. Three things made Anna Knochenhauer stick with ioGates, after being introduced to it: ![]()
